So yeah, though I played both games on GamePass, I bought Subnautica separately halfway through the game so I have it when I cancel my sub. There are parts of BZ that I really liked of course - the pinning system, the ability to pause the game when reading the PDA, the ability to cap the framerate in the settings, and overall the bug-free experience - I don't think I encountered a single bug in BZ. The Cyclops is big and clumsy to operate but it feels much more "real". I also agree with /u/rek50000 that the propulsion system of the Seatruck makes no sense. And the dry-land aggressive fauna felt like an intern coded it.īecause so much of the map is dry land in BZ there is also less ocean to explore. The actual utilization of the RC penguin didn't justify the buzz the narrative had generated. I literally named my snowfox "Piece of shit" and painted it diarrhea brown - I hated how clumsy its controls were and how slow it was. The dry-land parts of BZ felt like such a chore.
